Praying for People at the Park

After spending some time visiting and praying with Saitama International Church, we grabbed some donuts from a Mister Donut and went to this nearby Park. Sundays are typically family days because it is the only day of the week that the males have off of work, therefore there were many families at the park. We had an opportunity to pray for the people we were near to at the park and had a positive interaction with a guy who was practicing juggling a soccer ball.

They even had a Jazz band playing!

Bryan and Jan remembered that there was a church nearby that one of their friends attended. We took a chance to see if they would give us a tour and they were very happy to. In fact, the Senior Pastor was still at the church and gave us a very detailed tour! The glass in the photo above weighs in total about 6 tons! The church has a foundation that goes 50 meters below ground level in order to protect it from earthquakes.

The pastor was very happy to hear that we were visiting Japan to pray for the people, and even said that if Japan is to be reached, the Japanese Christians need other foreign Christians to help advance the Gospel here.

On the way back, we took a very crowded train! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though. My height may help it to feel less claustrophobic, haha. There was a ramen place we ate at for dinner, and following ramen, we learned you have to get some aisu kuriimu! Pictured above is mochi (rice cake) with ice cream inside, very tasty!

Prayer Requests:

  1. For our spiritual protection as we visit a Shinto shrine today to learn about this religion
  2. For energy as we continue to transition to the time zone and will spend a significant amount of time prayer walking today
  3. For continued team unity and humility
  4. For Saitama International Church to find a long term pastor and for them to persevere in this time of trial without a leader
Thank you for your continued prayer and support! You are very much a part of what we are doing here and we are blessed by your prayers.
